1Overview
The East Africa Tourist Visa is a joint tourist visa covering Uganda, Rwanda and Kenya, with multiple entries between them. It is meant for tourism only: sightseeing, safaris and visiting family.
It does not permit employment, and business travellers need a Uganda visa of their own instead. Tanzania and South Sudan are not covered.
Who needs it
- For travellers touring all three countries on one authorisation who enter the bloc through Uganda first.
- Nationals of Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda and other East African Community states do not use it.
- Business travellers need a separate Uganda visa.
